Not all Zirconia is alike. Yes, Zirconia can be chemically similar, but once processed the mechanical and optical properties can differ significantly. 3M™ Lava™ Zirconia is made with zirconium oxide glass-free polycrystalline ceramic. The patented Zirconia substructure is available in 8 shades and is hand layered with an approved veneering ceramic (all Vita® Classic and Vita® 3D shades). 3M™ Lava™ Zirconia (Classic) has superior strength (1440 MPa) with high fracture resistance, high precision (digitally designed and milled), and proven longetivity. It has been commercially available for over 10 years. Our ceramists find that it offers the best coverage for dark stumps out of all metal-free restorations.

Primary telescopes
Adhesive and inlay bridges: patient selection = vital abutment teeth, only moderate sized carious lesions or restorations not exceeding the preparation depth of adhesive bridges, good oral hygiene, teeth in final occlusion

Contra-Indications

Adhesive and inlay bridges: patient selection = no parafunction; i.e., bruxism, no periodontal hypermobility of abutment teeth or high difference in abutment teeth mobility, no heavy occlusal load on the restoration
