The creation of a densely sintered high-purity aluminum oxide coping - the first step in making the all-ceramic crown once the die has been produced - can be done by us at Distinctive Dental Studio, Ltd. Using our ProceraŽ Scanner, the die profile is scanned into the computer and the coping is designed by the laboratory technician to meet the requirements of the restoration. When the scanning and design have been completed, the data is transferred electronically to a manufacturing facility where the coping is produced. The coping is returned to Distinctive Dental Studio, Ltd.; and it is here that the contours, occlusal contacts, and esthetic quality are created by the ceramist skilled in the use of the AllCeram porcelain veneering material.

AllCeram crowns represent a combination of computer technology and creativity. Today, AllCeram restorations are limited to single crowns, but ProceraŽ options for laminates and multiple unit all-ceramic anterior and posterior fixed partial dentures are already on the horizon.
